It’s a Wrap
We finished up our Disney park extravaganza with the completion of Hollywood Studios today. I think the girls were all Disney’ed out as they couldn’t sum up the energy to stay for the Fantasmic show this evening. And to tell you the truth, I was right behind them. We had a good time at Disney over the last two weeks but six visits is plenty. We managed to hit Animal Kingdom and Epcot twice and all the others once. We splurged at the Dine & Vine today and the buffet was delicious.
Two of our nearby neighbors headed out today. Most of the snowbirds have had enough of the heat and are heading back home to Michigan, Pennsylvania and all points north. It seems that many of the RV’ers that come to this park come and stay for several months and then head back home. I just can’t wrap my head around this. To me, an RV signifies freedom and exploration. There is no way in the world I would want to come and stay in the same place for eight months and then go back home for four and then repeat for years and years. There is so much out there to see! But I guess the beauty is that we can all do it in our own way.
I’m hoping to bring the girls back to one of the beaches. I would also like to see if they can do some horseback riding at the Wilderness Lodge. Alissa had expressed an interest so I’m going to see if I can make it happen. If not this trip, then I’m sure we’ll have an opportunity somewhere else in our travels. They also offer an archery session, Alaina’s favorite.
I ran into a lady here at the park that’s been coming back for eight years. She makes calling and business cards for people as requested. She came by the other day and took a picture of Perl and our crew. I wanted to do this before we left out in March but the days flew by in a blur. Since we’ve been on the road, I haven’t had any time nor do I have a printer. I need to find a good but small printer so I can print out our itineraries and more. Anyway, I’m glad I ran into her. If anyone is interested in her services, she said I could share her information.
Well, not only did we finish up with Disney but we’re also wrapping up our stay here in Orlando. It has been warmer than usual since we’ve been here. It has also been raining nearly every day. The wet season is usually June through September but I guess we’re getting inundated with both Junes temperatures and rain, all at the same time. I’m ready to head north for a little cooler weather myself. Our northward plans will be revealed shortly and the end result will be a layover at home until mid-June.
During our pitstop, we’ll be getting ready for the long stretch. I have a rough sketch of the remainder of our year. Those plans will also be revealed in a future post so stay tuned to the blog! It’s going to be an adventure-filled year. I will give you a few clues. Our plans involve another country, oh my! The fall will bring big colorful objects floating through the sky. Not a long post tonight but I wanted to keep you updated on our activities. Hollywood Studio kicked my butt today ;-).
{HUGS} from the crew!
Current Location = Thousand Trails Orlando, 2110 Thousand Trails Blvd, Clermont, FL 34714. 352-394-7575.
Cost = $33 for 11 nights w/Thousand Trails Southeast Zone Purchase. It’s only costing me $33 because I couldn’t find any 50 amp spots in the regular sites so I paid for a ‘premium’ spot.
My Observations = This is a VERY big, mainly RV based resort. The sites are not all that desirable but who can beat the price? We gave up concrete for dirt but we have big outdoor mats, so no worries. This keeps a barrier between us and the red ants. And yes, we’ve seen numerous red ant holes. The electricity works fine and we have full hook-ups.
*Please Note: If you do not like being handed a map and told to go forage for your spot, THIS PARK IS NOT FOR YOU! And to top it off, there are yellow stars placed randomly throughout the park to let you know where the 50 amp spots are, really?! Once we got settled, we were fine but what a pain in the *$%# that was.
