Laundry Woes
You know I gotta keep it real here on the blog. You may think that we’re living a perpetual vacation but trust me folks, we’re not. There is still dishes, laundry, shopping and cleaning to do. There is still meals to prepare and chores for all of us. And a lot of this goes on without the modern conveniences many of us have come to expect. We don’t have a dishwasher, we’re it. We do not have a washer and dryer. We’re at the mercy of the local facilities.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been without first world conveniences before. The kids and I lived in China for six months. Guess what? No dishwasher and no clothes dryer. And the washing machine held an itty bitty amount of clothes. So I’m not new to some struggle. Occasionally there is a hiccup, usually at the most inopportune times. Yesterday was one of those days. Sometimes all we can do is laugh about some of the predicaments we find ourselves in.
Thom and Alissa went off to the resorts laundry facility. I stayed behind to make dinner. Things were going great, even though there were only two washers and two dryers. Alissa got some of the clothes dried and then……….you guessed it, it broke. Then dryer number two, down for the count. There was a whole lot of wet clothes. The closest laundry mat is 10 miles away. So we did it the old fashioned way. I hope it doesn’t clash too much with the parks decor. Watcha think?
It just seems like there is always something. This is a really nice resort but the laundry facility sucks. The last resort we were having issues with our electrical but the laundry facility was awesome. They even had a clothesline next to it in case you didn’t feel like plopping a ton of quarters into the dryers. Things finished drying today and it seems for the moment things are going smoothly. The a/c’s are cranking, a package arrived that Alissa’s been nervously awaiting, we found the putters for putt putt golf and all is right with the world. Sunday we move on to a new park. I wonder what’s in store for us there?
