That’s right, as if I didn’t have enough to deal with being a single mom while on the road, I’ve added more chaos to the mix. I’ve been searching for a pup for a few months now. I’ve looked at shelter dogs and rescues but they always seemed to get adopted before I was able to get a chance.

Then it happened. It was a nice July day in VA (a rare treat indeed). We decided to hike at a park we hadn’t been to in a while, Government Island. If you’d like to learn more about the park,

The stone was hauled down the Potomac River on boats heading towards Washington, D.C. It is a very nice park that just opened in the last few years. In order to access it, a boardwalk was built over the marshes and creeks that create the landscape.

While we were walking along, we saw another family with two dogs. One was a pit bull and the other was an adorable white pup. I stopped and asked them what kind of dog the puppy was. The mom said they couldn’t keep him because they were only allowed one dog in their apartment. They’d been trying to hide him every time the maintenance people came but that was proving to be more and more difficult. She didn’t want to bring him to the pound. I told her I’d been looking for a little dog for a while now.

I got her number and went home to talk about it with hubby. I knew I had him at the first picture! It was the pure cute factor. We talked a few more times and an agreement was made. I met her at Pet Smart on Sunday and became a new doggy owner. We’re headed out to camp next Monday and I’m hoping I won’t be in over my head. I purchased this dog pen for outside. I’m hoping between that, long walks and the crate, we’ll be good to go. New toad pulling experience last time, new puppy this time.   Here’s hoping for a smooth transition to the RV life for little Loki!

I really do appreciate any and all purchases you make by clicking on my AMAZON link! Thank you!
