Moving On

We spent our last day in Tampa as any self respecting person would, AT THE BEACH. We took our butts across the bridge and parked it on Anna Maria Island. White sand beaches, turquoise water, you get the idea. I feel so lucky to have had the pleasure.

We headed over the bridge and made our way past little beach spots along the side of the road. We turned left on Anna Maria Island and looked for public beach access. It took us a little while but we finally found it. And it was totally worth it.

The seashells on this beach were pretty cool. Alissa started searching as soon as we got there. She found some pretty cool stuff. I’ve heard there is a few other beaches with amazing shells. Some of them are only accessible via a ferry or boat. I’d love to check those out some time. Making new friends is another great bonus of our trip. Not only have I made some friends along the way, the kids are starting to as well. They played with two new friends at the beach. Frisbee in the water and Littlest Pet Shop on shore.

LIttlest Pet Shop in the sand.

I’d like to make some cards for the kids to hand out so they can stay in touch with some of the friends they meet along the way.

We had a great day at the beach. But as we all know, eventually all good things must come to an end. It was time to go home, say goodbye to our neighbors and batten down the hatches. We had to get everything put away and secured before rolling on down the road to our next destination.

IMG_0248We didn’t have far to go for our next camp. Along our  way, we stop in at Camping World. One of my bay doors wasn’t latching properly. Unfortunately, they couldn’t help me without ordering the part. While parked, I cranked on the generator and microwaved some leftovers for A&A and cooked Nadia and I a burger on the stove. This has got to be one of my favorite features of traveling in an RV. You don’t have to eat out for every meal. My next favorite is having a bathroom (or in our case 2) so I don’t have to constantly stop for potty breaks. We rolled into our next camp with plenty of time to spare. We got everything hooked up, slides out and voila, home sweet home. I think this spot really looks good on Perl, don’t you?

Another wonderful neighbor helped me get Perl backed in and everything went well. She told me, “My husband and I used to park our RV in this very spot. Then he died and I bought the house next door.” No wonder she was so good at directing me in. We have a nice lake at our resort and the kids are having fun in the pool. Our RV site is very nice and comes complete with a concrete picnic table. I’m having no trouble with any electrical in the coach. It seems they are regularly inspected and certified. We are in the land of Disney as evidenced by the Wal-Mart display in the picture.

Shortly after we got here, I had to start thinking of an upcoming festivity. We met up with friends and dyed Easter eggs. We also had a nighttime egg hunt. And then there was a scavenger hunt for the Easter baskets. The bunny came early this year, she knew we had Epcot plans in the morning.
