They Took This Crazy Crew Back

Sadly, we said goodbye to Canada and headed toward the border. To my astonishment, they took this crazy crew back with no incident. We headed down into the U.S. through North Dakota. and shamefully I admit the only reason we stayed overnight in Fargo, North Dakota was to add it to the list of ‘places we’ve been’. A good enough reason, right? Truth be told, there were two reasons. One of the crew members also needed to stop at Costco to refill a prescription. There was not much to see in this sleepy little town and we were ready to head out the next day to…….

Duluth, Minnesota where Lake Superior would be added to the fourth Great Lake on our list. Lake Superior is the largest of the great lakes and the largest in the world by surface area.

Our location was on the docks overlooking Lake Superior and it was a sight to behold. While it rained two of the three days we were there, it didn’t stop us from exploring on the one beautiful day we had. One of the big highlights, besides the lake, is the really cool Aerial Lift Bridge. It is on the
National Register of Historic Places and there is only one other like it in the world, which is in Rouen, France.

And wouldn’t you know it, as soon as we were ready to walk over the bridge, the bells started sounding alerting to the fact that it was getting ready to lift up for a ship coming through. Watch the video on my YouTube channel.

Afterwards, we walked along the lake and gave our crew member Loki some much needed exercise. It was a short stop with only one good day of exploring but it was a nice start before heading towards the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and the delicacies associated with Cornwall, United Kingdom. Do you know what they are?

{hugs} from the Crew!
