Medical Issues and a Book
It’s been a crazy time around here lately. I’ve had a lot going on.
Medical issues – what turned into a routine exam turned into a procedure which turned into a surgery in which I learned that I needed yet another surgery. Oh boy! I was juggling the holidays combined with numerous doctor visits so I could hurry up and get in line for surgery.

It all started with something simple, which turned out to be cancer, and a radical hysterectomy quickly followed. I finally had the hysterectomy on January 6th but alas, within a week I would find myself back in the hospital for four days with an abscess. This is something that occurs in 1% of patients. Yes, you read that right, 1% of patients! I was the lucky recipient.
I am finally out of the hospital with a drainage tube in my stomach counting down the days when it can be removed. Hopefully sometime this week. In the meantime, I have received pathology results from the cancer that was growing in my uterus. I had the lowest grade/stage of cancer possible and the lymph nodes showed no sign of spread and I couldn’t be happier.

I’m hoping that most of this is behind me and I’ll continue to get stronger every day. Another huge sigh of relief with having all of this done is no need for more invasive procedures such as chemotherapy. And this means if all goes well, we should be on schedule for our next cross-country trip shortly after Easter.
Another thing that I’ve been working on behind the scenes is a book that I’m going to publish on Amazon. I’ve completed the first chapter and I’ve outlined seven more. My goal is to have it complete before we head out in April. However, that is going to be a tall order so I’m not going to push myself too hard to make that happen.
So you may be wondering what the book will be about?
I’m writing towards the audience that is either dreaming of an RV lifestyle, is preparing to head out or newbies who need some advice and/or encouragement. I want to inspire people who feel they have a passion for the RV lifestyle to step out and do it. To show them that they too can do this, especially women who feel intimated by it all.

I’m very excited for my endeavor. I’ve been wanting to write a book for a long, long time. While this will be a self-published book and won’t be exactly what I had envisioned, it’s still a start. And as with all things, the first step is always the hardest. I’m so happy to be moving forward!
That’s about all I have for now. I just wanted to jump on here for a few minutes while my energy level was cooperating and let you know what’s been happening.
So happy that you’re on the mend and that the future looks bright for you! Wonderful news about your book!
We are now in Las Vegas and remembering your fun post about being here last Christmas!
All the best,
Jeni
Thanks Jeni! Hope you guys are having fun in Vegas. The plan for us is to head toward Yellowstone after Easter. I can’t wait to get back out on the road :-)!
